Our story

Ships don't run on schedules — they run on the people who keep them running. Ortech Marine exists to take the weight of repair, maintenance and compliance off the shipowner, so the ship can do what a ship is supposed to do. Stay at sea.

We are headquartered near the main shipyard area of Tuzla, Istanbul — twenty minutes from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport — with full operational reach across the Sea of Marmara into the Altınova shipyards of Yalova. Whatever flag your vessel flies, whether it docks at Tuzla or Yalova, we can be on board within hours.

Our work has grown from a single engineering practice into a portfolio of formal partnerships with manufacturers across Europe — specifying, integrating, commissioning and servicing the systems that owners trust their vessels to. We don't resell. We engineer.

Alongside the engineering, Ortech operates as a full ship's agent in the Tuzla region — handling port-state liaison, customs clearance, yard selection and contract negotiation on the owner's behalf. The same team that scopes your repair also clears your parts through customs and negotiates your yard contract. One contact. Every link of the chain.

Leadership

Led by an engineer, not a salesman.

Every project at Ortech Marine is owned by a chief marine engineer with over three decades of experience at sea and in the world's leading shipyards. There is no layer of account-managers between you and the engineer who scopes the work. The person who answers your enquiry is the person who'll be on board the vessel.

What we believe

State of the art work, at minimum cost.

Three commitments shape every project we take on — from a same-day stop-leak deployment to a multi-week dry-dock retrofit.

Engineering first

Every engagement is owned by a marine engineer with sea time. We solve problems, we don't just specify products. Decisions are made from the engine room outward, not the catalogue inward.

Owner-side accountability

We work for the shipowner, not the yard. Single point of accountability, daily reporting, transparent scoping — so you know exactly where your vessel stands at every moment.

Cost-effective by geography

Operating from the intersection of three continents lets us combine top-tier quality with prices that materially reduce repair expenses. The geography is the saving.

Compliance & standards

Aligned with the codes, classes and conventions that move the trade.

01 — Safety ISM Code Full compliance with the International Safety Management Code on every managed vessel.
02 — Emissions IMO MARPOL Aligned with MARPOL Annexes covering air, oil, sewage and garbage discharge requirements.
03 — Reporting EU MRV & ETS Support for monitoring, reporting, verification and emissions trading obligations in EU ports.
04 — Class DNV · LR · BV · ABS Work prepared and documented to the standards of all major classification societies.
05 — Flag Flag State Approvals Compliance and survey support across the flag states our managed fleet operates under.
06 — Region Tuzla & Yalova Shipyard Regions Direct operational access to two of the world's largest concentrations of shipyards and marine workshops.
Where we work

At the heart of one of the world's busiest shipyard regions.

Our offices and workshops sit alongside the major shipyards of Tuzla — twenty minutes from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport — with full operational reach across the Sea of Marmara into Yalova's Altınova shipyard cluster. Two of Türkiye's principal shipyard regions, both within hours of mobilisation.
